Hike to the Franz Fischer Hut

Take your own car or the public bus line 700/710 to Zederhaus to the Schliereralm. Attention toll road 12 Euro/ car, but free for our guests. LUNGAU-CARD partner!

Park at the Schliereralm car park and follow the marked path towards the Gruberalm or take the Almenwanderweg . Take the Franz-Fischer-Hütte turn-off. From there, head uphill to the right. It is worth stopping and resting at the Franz-Fischer-Hütte at 2020m. It is the first vegetarian alpine hut! The Zaunersee lake is close by and the route continues over wonderfully colourful alpine meadows and a beautiful hiking trail to the Essersee lake. This lies at 2088m. Past the "Mosermandl" turn-off in the direction of Jakoberalm 1839m, the trail continues and you return to the starting point. On the way home, be sure to make a short stop at the church in Zederhaus and take a look at the "PRANGSTANGEN".
